Tales of Flynn RSS

These are tales from the spring Swordcraft Quest in 2019. The events really happened as described, and the dialogue actually was as written, to the best of my memory. Credit goes to a man who played Barbarossa in the following tales for the suggestion to take memoirs of the events. Every word and action was improvised. The other characters will have their own memories and perspectives. It's sunny and about midday. I'm very hungry - I only just found out that lunch is not provided in the catering arrangement I have with a warband, and there's no time to eat before the tournament anyway.Flynn arrives moderately early with Izkander and has a few warm up duels with Canberra LARPers. After dark, Flynn goes to the tavern with Izkander and is disturbed at the crazy creatures there with big heads. They go to the town hall and have friendly fights with some Dawn Blades. Salem is becoming a very competent swordsman. A woman arrives and calls out, admiring their curved swords. In a way that is very unlike Steve, Flynn sheaths his sabre immediately, walks up to the woman, stands against the post, looks deep into her eyes and says "You know something, you're the most beautiful woman I've ever seen in my life". Flynn is on guard duty tonight at the tea shop. He's contracted Lemon and Yuki of the Dawn Blades for the second night running, at the request of Izkander and Sayeed, but Yuki doesn't show. Flynn is surprised and dismayed; this is unlike Yuki. Flynn and Lemon share guard duty. They talk and share stories. Flynn has heard that a potential Dawn Blade ally is on trial by the Witch Hunters in the morning for saying "Fuck the brand". He can hear screams of torture from the Witch Hunters' headquarters already, but when he asks Sir Bernhard and Lady Catherine of the Dawn Blades, apparently it is not the man they know.Flynn waits to watch the trial, ready for it to go wrong.
