Greatswords

This group of swords are exclusively 2 handed swords that are too large to be worn on the hip, and that were intended to used as primary weapons in warfare.

With lengths starting at 150cm, they no longer fit the description of "Longswords".
In most HEMA contexts, and depending on the source, what is considered a longsword maxes at out armpit height, or roughly 135cm.

What we call a Greatsword was not a personal defence weapon, or a sidearm to use after losing your main weapon (usually a lance, pollaxe or similar polearm). These are primary weapons.

Nothing beats a properly balanced weapons with working defences!
